Biomedical Materials II

Bild

Students will be able to
  • classify material groups like refractory metals and alloys, polymers and ceramics that are commonly used as biomaterials for endo- and exoprosthetic as well as biomechanical applications
  • describe material characteristics (atomic structure, microstructural constituents, mechanical properties) and typical applications in biomechanical products

 Inhalte

  • materials: refractory metals and alloys, glasses, ceramics, polymers, hydrogels, composite materials
  • properties: microstructure, mechanical, corrosive, biocompatibility, wear, fatigue, failure
  • sterilization methods
  • patient individual additive manufacturing
  • dental applications, orthopedic applications, cardiological application, applications in otolaryngology
